fearful wiskers
So it's been 36 hours since I shaved with the Dorko that I had Lynn hone , and it's getting a bit comical. I still have nothing that I can shave. I want to shave again, but I think that my wiskers are afraid.
On a side note, I think I finally won my other half over to my shaving. When I first started it was "be careful, that's dangerous", but now her tunes changed. We were at dinner with her friend and she was bragging how I shave with a straight razor and that it's "a closer shave that last longer"

Always good to know when the better half takes up the cause as well...

Thanked: 346That's how I won my wife over to the cause. Except for "dinner with a friend" it was "fish supper in bed", and except for "closer shave that lasts longer" it was "dang that's a sittable face". But except for that it was exactly the same.
Now she gets all happy whenever USPS drops off another package, and she's since bought me a Henckels Friodur, a TI SRP LE and a TI Egyptian Palmwood, so I guess she approves. Good times, man, good times...

I'm developing shy whiskers as well. I had purchased a vintage KB Extra straight from Billy's Blades . After I shower, I get a cup of hot water to use with my shave cream and those whiskers just slide right off. I splash on that after shave (and I like the alcohol based stuff) and no or very little burn! At the end of the day my face is still smooth. I strop real good in the evenings to get the razor ready for the next morning. I think I'm starting to get the hang of the straight razor.
