    I would agree with trying to find some local help. There is obviously an issue but diagnosing it would be easier in person.

    Unfortunately, watching stropping videos does not a good stropper make. It gives you the basic principles. Only practice stropping results in good stropping. You mention little to nothing about your stripping in your posts.
    The easy road is rarely rewarding.

    The good news is that once this problem is figured out you will be able to get a great shave with a straight.
    If you can achieve a good shave with a shavette you should be able to achieve a great shave with a straight.
    Just need to figure out the weak link,... which after reading all posts I would hazard to guess is stropping.

    It almost does sound like it's gotta be stropping right? I mean good shaves shavette- bad shaves with straights, has to be it right? Unless razor angle has to be perfect with straights and not so much with shavette? Any thoughts?
