Had that exact thing happen - was holding the box in both hands and suddenly the razor goes sliding off to the left and onto the floor..by luck it hit tang first and it was on fairly thick carpeting...just shook my head and wrote the seller that perhaps in the future an added piece of tape or a FERKING WARNING LABEL might be in order....

Bummer, I don't have any photos, so you'll have to take my word for it, ..... ..... but I had a pair of ivory scaled 6/8 Joe Rodgers & Sons wedges. Dropped one on the tile floor and ruined the ivory scales. I sold the other and gave the blade to a friend, the ruins of the scales to another friend who makes jewelry/trinkets. So I know the feeling.

Big, huge flexi-shortie! I am your huckleberry! It will be like a DE blade on-a-stick! You might actually dig it more. I retired my 14 as it is just too damn long. PM me!

Someone made a post way back that it pays to roll a razor in bubble wrap and
secure the roll with multiple rubber bands.
Tape is a pain and the bubble wrap often suffers and cannot be used a second time.
Some honemasters might make a comment on how they "like" their packages to arrive.Last edited by niftyshaving; 01-07-2015 at 02:23 AM.

I've been using bubble wrap and rubber bands for years when I send razors. Recently I began slipping the bubble wrapped razors into the cardboard roll left over from a used up roll of paper towels. With each end folded and a bit of tape applied it gives the razor a bit more protection.
I hate when I receive a razor wrapped with so much tape that I have to be careful not to damage it removing the tape.Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 580That is a sad sight. I purchased a couple of razors. The add said "selling as junk". One was a nice old Bengall. The seller put them straight into a plastic shipping bag, no wrapping and sure enough, by the time they got here they were junk. Couldn't complain about the description.

Sorry for the DeKastere, man.
Were it mine, I would totally make a shorty out of it. But then again, I use nothing but shorties.Recovered Razor Addict

Well... that just stinks. But maybe you can make lemonade from lemons..
I have been looking for shorty candidates as I love a non-traditional, short blade. If you care to sell your fallen-Fili, let me know. If the size is usable, I might be interested in it with or without scale.
