Okay so I received my Hart razor from shooter74743 freshly honed and shave ready. Showered then wiped off the oil applied warm water to my face, Noxzema cream as a pre shave, catie's bubbles rose soap lathered with my AOS Gillette fine badger brush, spine slightly off my face I began to shave.
The sensation didn't feel much different then before, sort of tugging even with the blades spine practically on my face. I only did two passes which were the same north to south. I did try a pass from ear to nose taught skin and slack skin but no way was that going to happen the blade would not cut the hair, I didn't want to push it and cut myself.
The razor is definitely sharp I had two very faint landing errors so I know it is not the blade. Although I am still not sure why a DE Astra blade will glide through my 3 day growth like butter and my straight wont. I am sure there is something I am doing wrong even though I have tried so many of the suggestions here in this thread. I am still willing to try more suggestions!Last edited by dshaves; 01-29-2015 at 09:10 PM.

Thanked: 1936We have got to get you to meet up with a fellow Californian SR user, face to face, that's all there is to it. Astra DE blades are my second favorite De blade and they are good, but nothing compares to a good straight shave.
Did you happen to video the shave like you mentioned you may?Last edited by ScottGoodman; 01-30-2015 at 01:23 AM.

Thanked: 1936I am wondering out loud, is the blade edge sliding on your skin or are you holding the edge off your skin?

I have whiskers from hell. My wife can get razor rash just walking by me.
Both of my Harts glide smooth through.
Keep up the practice. It's a dog eat dog world and I have on milk bone underwear.

Revelation!!!!! Tonight I shaved again and really focused on the angle! I put the blade flat on my face I mean all the way flat this time!!! glided the blade downward and amazingness happened the razor didn't tug it sliced like it is suppose to, like everyone said it would !!! I guess I thought the blade was flat I knew this was different because it felt weird just like it's suppose to being a noob at this!!! So pumped!!! Thank you thank you everyone
