Way to go!! Welcome aboard.
Patience and a truly sharp razor are paramount. (a few tissues for blotting weepers are a good idea too!) Don't skimp on any!
Fun is equally important

Nice work! The biggest mistake most beginners make is doing well on their cheeks and moving forward to do their jawline as well and things go south very fast.
Wonderful first experience and I too hope to see some SOTD photos.Doug

Congrats Lowball on your first shave. It seems like a lifetime ago I was using an electric and then switched to a DE and eventually progressed to a straight. I am sure glad I caught up with modern times with the straight. Keep it up. It all gets easier with practice. bj

Congrats. Wish I had your patience. But I guess Alum block and Styptic stick makers need to eat too. Shave on.
