    Default History Of Shaving Video

Here's a video (complete with commercials) on getting A Closer Shave.

    Oh that's bad stropping

No kidding that, stropping action was horrid. Interesting how Gillette got started though. Weird guy.

Just finished it during the lunch break. That was very informative and I liked how they came back to the straight in the end.

The most painful parts to watch for me were the sections on aerosol creams and the multi bladed razor developments. The electric was a little uncomfortable to. I'll keep my straight thank you very much.

Yeah, they don't treat the straight with too much respect, but I agree with you. The most frightening part was watching the first multi blade video. Yikes, what a horror show.

That was fun to watch. I wonder how one gets credentialed as an "Electric Shaver Historian"? First time I'd heard of Sweeney Todd.

Very well done. Watched the whole clip.
What about the barber that advocates 'using the wrist' with a straight'?
Agree, the stropping was just for show.

That's what I do. It's fast so I have to make sure I don't get ahead of myself.

The part that irked me was when they characterised the straight razor as able to turn into a scalpel before your eyes.

I liked how, not long after one barber says "You never go against the hair", several barbers are doing just that.
