You can use the gap in your scales like a gun sight to determine your blade angle when you cannot otherwise see the blade.

BTW, if you're into Classics, I'd stay away from Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture with cannon fire.

On, almost 24 hours a day is, on the web, allclassical.org. Based in Portland, OR it is a non profit station playing all era of classical music and opera. Only interruptions are the commentary by a very learned group of people and some shout outs to sponsors. My morning shave is serenaded by everything from Palestrina to Stravinsky with Copeland, Beethoven, Mozart and you name them in between.
