Thanked: 1size vs. nicks and cuts
Hi, All,
I have shaved with 4/8, 5/8 and 6/8 razors--all high quality and super sharp razors. I recently observed that the larger the blade, the higher number of nicks and cuts. I have never cut or nicked myself with the 4/8. The nasty stuff was always with the 6/8. Is this coincidence? Maybe my technique, such as it is, favors the smaller blade. Anyone else experience this?

I have a 4/8 and a 5/8 and both of 'em will cut me just fine. My face is unbiased on what size it'll let cut in if I'm not too careful.
Is there in deference on the ends, or are they all the same point? Round, French, Square, etc...

Thanked: 1Hi, BrianB,
They are all the same points...all the same brand. Only the size is different.

That is likely your comfort level with the larger blades coming out. Personally, I love a good 6/8 or 7/8, but the 8/8 I tried was a bit too fat for my liking.

I find the larger the size the less maneuverable the razor is. This is probably why you are cutting yourself. Like anything else once you get used to it it really shouldn't cause problems. But, it still won't make that 18 wheeler 8/8s move around your face like a sports car 4/8s.
