Thanked: 5My razor came back to life!!!
I finally had a chance to try out my new (old) swaty barbers hone today and the results were pretty good!
I did 10 strokes; 8 with a bit of pressure then 2 with only the blades weight, then stopped 30 on linen, 50 on leather.
I had a very hard time shaving arm hair, wich made me nervous, but once I put the blade to my face, oh man!
The blade just glided down my face! No tugging at all, I tried to just shave the lather off my face.
This wasn't the closest shave I ever had, but it was by far the most comfortable I barely felt the blade on my skin

Thanked: 4827The barbers hones are known to be fairly aggressive cutters. Now that you have shaved you could try a couple more passes, however if the edge starts to degrade then you are in a spot where you need to go down in grit in order to fix it. You may want to proceed with a little caution. However when it gets to the point where you are enjoying the shave that is where you should stop. As far as I am concerned the ultimate test is the shave test. If it does well there the rest of the test really don't matter, it is after all what you are going to do with the razor.
It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!
