Thanked: 0under nose help
I am having a hard time trying to figure out how to shave under my nose and under my lip. Under the nose especially. Cut every time. Can I get some tips on these areas while i still have a nose. I shave with a shavette but plan on buying a 5/8 soon, so tips for both (if there's a difference) would be much obliged. Thanks

Thanked: 634First pass I go down holding razor at about 60 degree angle. Second pass I go up with razor almost flat against skin. Then with tip of razor go cross ways on each side of nose.

That's the hardest stroke in straight shaving. It will depend how big a schnozzola you have. You need to do some real manipulating and precise angle adjustment and almost a scooping motion with the razor.
Of course maybe you shouldn't take my advice seriously. I've had a full moustache since age 19.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Come in diagonally from the sides, then directly under your nose hold the razor parallel to your nose and scoop downwards CAREFULLY
a bit like this:

As you have noticed your nose will force the blade into an aggressive position on a with the grain pass. The scooping motion is a way to get it to a milder angle as soon as you can. Stretch your upper lip and use your hand to push your nose to the side if needed. You don't need it to be perfect on the first pass. Just get what you can, it's okay if you don't hit everything. On the second pass hit it sideways with to toe of the blade. Ear to nose direction is easiest. Do not try to go against the grain on your upper lip until you are very comfortable with a straight razor(if then ).

Well after reading this i might thank the wife for not letting me remove my mustache. She said i look funny without one. But i do have a suggestion that might work for you, you could grow a mustache and the problem would be solved.

This is exactly what I would suggest. ( P.S. I love the artwork!)

I really pull the nose way up. Helps makes those south-growing hairs stand up straight.
Keep your pivot dry!
