Thanked: 5Got My Razor Back and More!
Hi guys,
As some of you may remember, I totally messed up my straight razor a little while ago, scraping it on the faucet. I was very upset, thinking my razor was messed up beyond repair.
Cudarunner, a mentor on this forum, was nice enough to send me a pm and offer to hone my razor as well as lap my swaty barbers hone just paying postage. I very happily accepted and was astounded at the turnaround to hone lap and pack and put my stuff in the mail! This was just one day from the time he received my items, I couldn't believe how quickly he did the work!
My babies arrived home today, and included with my items was another razor which was bigger than my original razor. He told me to try it out and if I liked I could have it for 40$, paying whatever I was able to pay, whenever I was able to pay it with no timetable.
I was able to shave today when I got home from work and i cant say enough about the edge! Cudarunner did a fantastic job and I had the most comfortable and enjoyable shave I've ever experienced! I used the new razor that cudarunner sent and i was amazed by how effortlessly it cut through my beard.
I highly recommend cudarunner to anyone who needs a hone, he'll put a great edge on your razor and he's a hell of a guy!

Thank you for the vote of confidence. No one can say that I 'don't try'. I may not always succeed but I Do Try.
I'm glad that you've found that you like the extra size and 'heft' of the slightly larger razor.
It will be interesting to learn how you now like the razor that you'd been using.

Thanked: 5Hey guys, just to update the thread:
I actually like the 5/8 better than my original razor which just felt way too small. My original has turned into my back up razor and the new one has become my daily driver!

+1 for the awesome edges Cudarunner acheives. He has done two of mine and they are wicked sharp and buttery smooth.
Smarter than I look or, not as dumb as I look. Whichever you prefer.

While I was pretty certain that a larger blade would give you more heft than your 4/8 and that you would enjoy it, I couldn't remember if I'd sent a 9/16 or a 'small' 5/8 anyway I'm very glad that you have enjoyed it.
For those that may wonder; I let Matt have the razor for what I had into it. No profit, just enough to cover costs. Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.
