    Default Finally!

I have finally got what I consider a very good shave with a straight. I usually only have time to try once per week (very rushed- maybe 7 minutes), so today I have a late work day, so I had a) time, b) wife was gone to work c) I shaved with a straight yesterday d) razor just honed up.

I view the biggest factor was the lack of time pressure and a popping blade..

Single pass, and comparable to a de.

After more than my share of blood shed, I feel a major victory..

Thanks for all of your support!

I shave in the evenings for that very reason, well that and I like to lounge in the mornings.

Yep the more you use it the better it will get, and quicker, I can do a DFS in less than 10 minutes, and yes the blade must be right. As for not having enough time to shave , I just get up early enough. Congratulation. Tc

Thanks Tc! This is a hard learning curve and folks don't say that.. I guess for some new guys (and old) this must be easy...Not so much for me.. Happy to have a good shave tho!

    Best,

    G

Yep it is a hard learning curve and anyone saying it was easy their first time out isn't being as honest as they should, and most don't get that razor done by a competent hone guy to start with and then the curve just got even more frustrating,, stick with it and I'll say this in 4-5 months you,ll be swinging that razor around in no time ,, just don't get too cocky or it,ll remind you how mean they can get. As Lynn says. ,have fun. Tc
