Thanked: 155What's happening here
Okay, I currently have three razors in my rotation. A Duble Duck Satin Edge, A Boker Red Injun #101, and a Red Imp #133. Now I have noticed that the Red Imp is just not as smooth as the other two. It still shaves close, with no irritation, but it feels like it is pulling more. Does it just need to be sharper or is there that much potential difference in razors?

Thanked: 1587Well, it depends on what you mean when you say "pulling more". My personal preference is for stiffer grinds or larger blades, as I've found these give me better shaves ceteris paribus. So my personal feeling is that there can be, and is, a noticable difference between razor types when shaving.
However, a well-honed edge shouldn't pull, no matter the razor type.

Red Imps are very well reputed pieces of steel. If there's a problem it's likely the bevel or the edge needs to be improved.

X is right. I have a red imp and its one of my best shavers. Give it tour on the hone and see if that doesn't improve things.
You have three real quality razors there. The start to a good sized collection I'd say.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero
