or what about this idea "trazor wheels"
basically a snap on spine with two or three rollers attached to the back, the rollers could be sized to suit different sized razors.

thanx, although the resulting angle seems to be slightly exaggerated but then not everyone has the same thickness of finger as well

it just seems to met that alot of the new comers to straights have the angle problem, and any prop you can give to assist them in getting the correct or near correct angle will produce more satisfied results, then they can work on lather , good lather for ATG (you can build a lather and you can shave , but if you don't get it just right it will be to sticky and hold the razor and skin on the ATG pass that will lead to cutting)

I still think that the old balloon trick is a great way to start especially when you are shaving someone else. Put some lather on it and if you take off a bit of colour in the lather without popping the balloon, your pressure is good. Just do it outside, the lather goes all over the place if you stuff it. It will also develope muscle memory and you can see how far off your angle is.

A good lather is half the shave.

I like it Ed, Razor Wheelie Bars.

It’s a money maker, next stop “Shark Tank”.

Your like the Tommy Edison of Straight Razor shaving.

My first razor was a Dovo from Art of Shaving. Keep in mind my facial hair is very coarse. First shave pulled very bad. Obviously not shave ready. I sent it out to be professionally honed. They said it was already sharped but they will make it better. Got it back, tried again and still horrible! I learned to hone myself. Went many extra miles to get this thing sharp as sharp can get. And still the same pulling. Went to a Feather AC DX and of course that was the smoothest shave ever. Later got a Dylan Farnham Stone Age razor. Cut much better, but not easy to handle. But recently I splurged on a Hart Steel, and man that was my most excellent shave right out of the box! After stropping it was even better. So I think Dovo and my facial hair aren't compatible. Maybe it was the Full Hollow Ground flexing on the coarse hair. I hear great things about Dovo, but I got scared away from the brand.

    Gents,

I had my 6th straight shave this morning with a Gold Dollar from Anthony Esposito. It was the absolute best shave I've had with a straight! It cut right through my thick asian facial hair much better than my Dovo that I've had professionally honed twice. On my left side of my face, the shave was very comparable to a DE shave, and since I'm left handed, my right side wasn't the best, but it was still better than any other straight shave I've had. If I ever get the hang of this, I can totally see this being my only shaving method. Thanks for the advice, everybody!

Great to hear, the lather you build does need some credit at least for your shave quality.
