Thread: Lazy Shavers

Gentleman,

Before I started shaving with a straight razor, I would shave only once a week on Sunday, fresh for the work week. I've been like that since I started shaving. When I first started with a straight razor about a year ago, I would shave every 2 to 4 days to let the beard grow long enough so I could see what I was shaving and for practice. I thought that shaving with a straight razor was/is so f***ing cool that I would want to shave more often. Now that I got WTG stroke down, I'm back to my old ways shaving only once a week. anybody else out there as lazy as me and just can't bring themselves to shave more often? I ask because If I only shave once a week, When am I ever gonna learn how to hone?

I only shave once a week.Big part of my income is from running my shopping cart around town dumpster diving for alum. cans.

I've always tried to shave every third day for as long as I can remember. But I do have times where I only get one a week in. Mainly when I'm on call. Spend all the free time sleeping.

I don't usually shave over the weekend, but I have to look presentable for work so I am always shaved during the week. I still have lazy shaving days though- minimal prep and a quick one pass shave!

spent most of my career in the oil patch , last 20 years was all about safety so you shave every day so you can wear the SCBA,s when sour gas is around. that said I grow a Van Dyke and I still shave every day , I have always shaved every day so its habit and I always liked being groomed before leaving the house but that's me tc

Why are you lazy? If once a week serves your purpose it is a waste of time to do it more.

all the jobs I've had, I've never been required to shave like CEO's, Lawyers, or people who are in meetings all day, etc, etc. but shaving with a straight razor is badass period...so...shaving more often, is badass more often.

The only reasonable reason I can think of to shave every day is to wear safety equipment like SCBA's. The rest in my opinion started as a status symbol that I am rich and can afford a slave to shave me every day. Or to hide the fact that they can't grow a decent beard.

Gotta shave everyday! Job and the beard grows to fast.

Spent most of my life in the military rarely taking more than a weekend off from shaving. Now that I'm retired from active duty, I still can't stand to go more than a few days. I guess it's just a habit now.
