Thanked: 4I also learned the hard way just to do two passes under the nose. For me personally, that seemed to be one of the hardest areas of my face to figure out. I blame Glen! :-) I bought and watched his awesome shaving dvd multiple times only to feel short changed at the end that he never shaved under the nose! I think i should get my money back for the pain and anguish of learning to shave under the nose by myself!!

Thanked: 0Thanks! I tried north to south, then side ways down and then I tried south to west/east, depending on the hair growth.
Sometimes I tried a fools pass. I used a very small part of the toe and move cut a few millimeter every time. I hardly used force. I let the SR do all the work. This gave me good control. I hardly cut myself, and my skin felt just a little bit burning.
Next tip I read on this forum, that I am going to try is: pull the skin with hair in difficult areas towards an area that is easier to shave.
The result was a baby smooth upper lip area! Thank you Shooter74743! And others. First time ever I shaved my upper lip area sooo
smooth! Little advice can go far! Personally I do not think I require 9 months to master a baby smooth shave with a SR.

I have had a mustache since I was 14, except for a brief period in basic training and a couple of weeks when my wife wanted to see what I looked like without one. It could not grow back quick enough for her. So I don't shave that area. But if I did, it would be two(or three, depending on the shave) downward passes for me.

Thanked: 23On the 2nd pass what works for me is to anchor my mustache area with my off hand but not stretch it tight. I got way too much irritation when stretching the skin. I anchor the skin close to the corner of my mouth, then I do a SW to NE | SE to NW kind of stroke depending on which side I'm shaving. I go very slowly and use a buffing motion. For my last pass I'll do an ATG pass but I anchor the upper lip by firming it up with my face muscles, curling it around my teeth and holding it with my off hand right on the lip. Again, I go really slowly and buff. That usually cleans everything up and I get a super smooth mustache area.

Thanked: 96I use a North to South on the first pass, nose to ear second and a diagonal lip to nose stroke. It doesn't snag like a fools pass. I use the tip of the blade with short strokes and stretch the skin.

On work days I only do two WTG passes. Once a week I'll switch it up and do a WTG and an ATG but never a fools pass. Like some of the other posts, I go northeast or northwest. I personally find a really sharp blade can become uncomfortable on the the ATG pass. Just my opinion though.
