Default Straight razor users found in the wild

Do you guys run across users who aren't on the internet?

I found one today, he was a vender at an antique store I go to often. He claims he has maintained his razor for 20+ years only using a "three piece strop" and still gets a better shave than any other razor!!

I'm guessing a "three piece strop" is a pasted strop, plain linen and leather. He also sold me a nice razor for a nice price!

I display and sometimes sell badger brushes at some of the local barber shops in my local, also do a couple trade shows now and than with my wife.
The newbs show alot of interest In SR shaving but I never push it.
I just refer them to the SRP site.

I have bumped into a few guys in the city when I was looking for shaving stuff. They are mostly trying to figure stuff out on their own along with youtube viewing. I usually recommend the site and tell them to PM me when they get here. To date 0 PM's.

This guy is somewhere close to 70 and has probably been shaving this way for a very long time, very much NOT an internet person. I would like to see his strop and razor. I asked him how he honed it and what kind of stone he used and he said "just a strop for over 20 years"

The sad thing is,Most of the newbs have no chance from the gitgo.
Just for chits and giggles I stopped into an AOS store in my town the other day.watched a young lady sell two SRs a young man, along with soaps and a brush, than proceeded to tell him how to use them (that was a hoot).
I never said a word, you know darn well his first shaving experiance will be awfulBlades will go into a drawer never to be seen again.
But it gave me an Idea.

That is a great idea! The next time I have cards printed, I think I'll have some printed with just the SRP name and URL. I can always jot down my name & number if the prospective straight shaver seems interested.
