What a wonderful life!
I am so fortunate, I was thinking today, to have had two completely different, but equally fantastic shaves on successive days, with such different "tools". Yesterday I shaved with a George Butler Art razor that was made sometime in the distant past, using MWF and a great brush from our own Razorfeld. Today I went modern with a heavy bladed 6 month old Robert Williams 7/8, using Maggard Bergamot and Lime soap and a Semogue Owners Club Boar Brush.
Each shave was different, but both shaves were amazingly good -- comfortable and close.
I'm a lucky guy....maybe I'll go buy a lottery ticket!Just call me Harold

Thanked: 1587I have a feeling that you will continue to be fortunate and lucky in many things, not just shaving - because a lot of that kind of thing is about attitude I've noticed.
However that may be, sounds like two awesome shaves with great gear. Congrats!

Don't give me those groans, most of you were thinking the same thing.
And I understand, Harold - it's great when everything just seems to come together and you have one of those magic shaves. Two in a row? That's a blessing.

Thanked: 56I know how you feel. As a newbie to SR, each day I make noticeable progress, and I can't wait to shave again. I'd shave twice a day if I could, but I know it'll just lead to razor burn. Now that I am almost entirely burn free after each shave (one tricky area left), I don't want to go backward.

I know how you feel. I have a problem with my hands (several in fact, but we won't go into that) which causes slight tremors at times. I love the straight, but I usually don't get to shave with them as much because of this, and have to fall back to DE/SE shaving about half the time.
I have truly been blessed all the month of July to use straights exclusively. It has been incredibly satisfying.Mike

My friend Mr L was peering over my shoulder as I was reading this thread and he wanted me to tell all of you he has a special "shavers special" for the month of August. If you "sign" on the dotted line he will guarantee you a "lifetime" of perfect shaves every day no matter what implements you use and when the time comes you can take all yer shaving gear with you.
If yer interested just download the "666" app on yer smart phone and he'll be in touch. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero
