One of the best descriptions I've ever read of this synergistic type of experience is that when several separate elements come together to form another distinct separate element and experience.

Like a group of musicians, four separate musicians or elements come together and create a 5th element, that is unique and transcends each individual element.

I have had some jams like that...bass, drums, guitars all linked together, riding on separate waves. They link to together creating something else, bigger.

Me, too. We had a habit in one band I was in of recording our gigs. I would hear things in the mix; guitar parts I knew I did not play. My ear just "heard them", because the blend of the musicians playing together created it. Wasn't really a guitar lick, but it sure sounded like it. It was that combination of musicians, instruments, even that point in time, the mood of each individual that contributed to those sounds, that tone. It would never happen again. There would never be that exact combination in that exact way, ever again. Lovely stuff.

Agreed. Picking one up and smiling is the prelude to a good shaving experience.
