Shave with what you like...
Just shave with what you like. Sometimes you find a razor and it just has a certain synergy. That razor gives you a mystical experience. Good razors will always do the job, but you can always have that special one. The one that you would never sell or the one that you hate yourself for selling. IDK, this is not a sport for me, I am looking for a sublime experience-transcendental. Finding god at the apex of the bevel. The this vs. that questions and their inevitable answers from the beginners and the seasoned veterans all become moot. You are just going to like what you like.
From their stillness came their non-action...Doing-nothing was accompanied by the feeling of satisfaction, anxieties and troubles find no place

I agree 100%.
This is not a hobby for me. I am not in competition, and I'm not searching for BBS, trying to reach the pinnacle of technical excellence, though I have worked hard on my technique so I can reach what the Japanese call "mushin", or "no mindedness". So I can stop thinking about it and just shave.
I'm looking for an "experience". A really fine, very pleasurable shaving experience, as often as I can.
I shave purely for the enjoyment.
I have a couple of straights, both vintage, that really make this easy for me. They are nothing special in the razor world. One is an American blade, one a Sheffield. But those two blades truly are special to me. They are more than the sum of their parts. I shaved with one of them tonight. Lovely.Mike

"A razor that is more than the sum of its parts". I like it.
I love the smell of shaving cream in the morning!

Someone should write the book :
"Zen and the Art of Straight Razor Shaving"
It's just that kind of experience!
