Just thought I would update my progress. Or lack thereof.
I would first like to thank the OP for the start of this thread. Second thank all who lent their advice.
Changing the stropping pressure. May have made a very small difference. But I still started to notice the razor not cutting the way I would like.
18 Shaves with the last resulting in some very minor irritation. Not bad enough where I probably couldn't have shaved with it more. But why have a bad shave. When 10-20 laps on my G20 brings it right back to were I have no irritation.
I made the best effort to strop, prep, lather the same soap, use the same strokes and passes. As to cut down on the variables.
I have spent plenty of time watching Lynn's and GSsixgun's video's on honing. Also read and watched videos on stropping techniques/ do's and don'ts. As well as reading the wealth of posts on here concerning the subject of getting good strong/durable comfortable edges. I use a loupe along with the tips and "rules" found on here.
I have loaned one of my early favorite Top Flight Burrell Razors to a friend. And will see how many shaves he gets before he feels it needs attention. An attempt at a control group.
I am open to suggestions as to what to do different.
Even if this winds up being the "norm" for me I will be satisfied but will still keep striving to improve my abilities.
