Default first shave w/ wapenica and genco

I received 2 shave ready razors since my last shave about 2 weeks ago.
One was the give-away razor, a Genco from Glen, the second was the Wapenica I purchased from Bruno. Wasn't up to a hot shower, so I opted for a hot bath (aching bones and all that), so my beard prep wasn't all that great. My other accoutrements:

    King of Shaves Shaving Oil
    Burma Shave mug soap
    Burma Shave shaving mug
    Eveready Pure Badger Brush

I decided to test shave in the order they had arrived (luckily it wasn't on the same day). The Wapenica was first so I shaved the right side with it. I'm not sure I can sum up my thoughts while using this razor other than OH MY GOSH! Two passes, WTG and ATG, and BBS. Would definitely recommend this razor for a newbie on a budget or even a well seasoned shaver with lots of money..it is a great razor.

Next up was the Genco on the left hand side. Now, let me preface this by saying I only have limited movement in my right shoulder and have the use of only one eye. So, I'm stuck shaving one handed, my right. The Genco was wonderful, about the same thought processes as the Wapenica, except it only took one pass to BBS.

Both razors passed the aftershave test with flying colors. I had only one problem, which was my fault lol. I slipped and got a nice little slice at the base of my neck. Why there? Well, as I've posted in the Beard Envy thread, my beard grows from cheekbone to almost the base of my neck. Kinda sparse, but still has to be shaved.

These 2 are definitely my front line. It's going to be hard to return to the IXL.

I'm glad you like the Wapienica.

I'm still working on my Wapenicas. They shave okay, but not as close yet as my others. Probably just need more time on the stone.
