    Default Adam's Apple...

    Hi everyone,
I recently started shaving with a SR and have been doing well. No significant nicks and cuts. However i can't seem to get a clean stroke on certain areas of my neck especially around the Adam's apple and some of the slight creases on the front of my neck. I've watched a few videos and have tried different positions of my head for the neck. I just want to know if any of you have this situation and what you do for this area.

    Thanks
    Rich

I tilt my head back and try to elongate my neck while pulling the skin to one side or the other. You can always try using your other hand and or different grips to get that right angle.

I'm sure it will come with more practice as what works for my neck. I've just seen a lot of videos and all of them doing it slightly different from the next. One also said not to shave ATG.

I've had trouble with that too, always worried about slicing off the tip of my Adam's apple...

Exactly. I had to stop and lift the razor off when I felt it pull. Luckily no harm.

Ok my Erics apple sticks out like a little fist! So I can feel your pain, honestly what I do in this area is just the best I can and what I don't get I touch up with another razor either DE or a shavette I have lying there. I get it as best I can and move on before I get cut, the last time I tried to get that part of my neck BBS I ended up with an inch long cut and it aint worth it. Good luck

Once you learn how to do it, the Adam's apple becomes a non issue. If you pull the skin over it to the side and then shave it, and then pull it to the other side and shave it, then you never have to actually shave over the Adam's apple itself.

Stretching the skin works very well but superbly when you add this trick...Swallow and hold your breath. The Adam's apple will move up and stay there until you breathe. With it out of the way, shave where it was, breathe, shave where it was. Both areas done!

I learned a trick from Mantic59's channel on YouTube. You swallow and hold while the adams apple is sunken down. Works for me.
