My Wade & Butcher Wedge
After seeing so many new people introducing themselves and posting their problems, I came to the realization that I too screw up my shaves, frequently. My difficulty really lies in my hair growth, which is different by 90 degrees right versus left and my neck is just confused with a big whirl and silliness. Combined with the fact you could make a suspension bridge with it.
Story time: On Saturday, I unexpectedly received a razor early. I send a big ol' honkin' W&B to gssixgun to get honed up. She had some deep pitting, restore job isn't the best, she's not really straight, her horn is original and certainly saw better days. And I love it. Especially since I had couldn't get it to shave, I was using too shallow of an angle. My neck is my test, simply because it's tough as nails and grows thicker than my cheeks. WTG, barely shaved. But once I got it, boy, I got it. Until I got to my worst areas, sides of the chin around the 'goat'. I simply refuse to make it easier and use a small blade. So, I trim up the right side. Got it perfect, which usually is an easy weeper spot. Go to the left, the easy side, too easy. Rinse off the blade and look at the sink. Hmm, that's a lot of black going down the sink.... I chopped a solid square out of the goat. Didn't even notice during the stroke, it's that good. This blade is going to be fun.
So my rationale for this post is this. Don't get frustrated with the problems and lack of perfection. Revel in it, the challenge is one aspect of the fun.

I currently only have one W&B and its a big wedge. Its a mean shaving SOB on 3-5 days growth, like a bulldozer with air ride and leaves a bare path slick enough to fall and bust your butt on.......LOVE IT!!

Thanked: 98I don't believe you guy's, I too have an EXTREME Beard and do not or have not shaved with the venerable W+B, SO, if you want to make a believer, send me a W+B for extreme testing.

Heh, sorry, I'm still trying to get my W+B dialed in... I would be surprised if no one actually takes you up on that offer tho... I was offline all last night, raiding Hobby Lobby for small scale casting kits...
