Best Shave Yet!
Hello all,
just got my 4 razors back in the mail with their brand new professionally honed edge, compliments of one Roy Davis aka cudarunner.
They were purchased because I just don't like a full hollow and these were quarter ground and one full wedge, 5/8s through 8/8ths.
Just got done with the Fredericks 6/8ths and not only does the English language lack a word to serve justice to this edge, but Russian and Spanish lack one too.
Best experience shaving in 4 months, hands down. From sending them out to getting them today Roy was just phenomenal. Outstanding communication.
I dropped them at the post office 7 days ago today. In that time Roy managed to put a killer edge on 4 ebay problems, clean them up, and have me shaving today. He lives in Washington state and I'm in new jersey btw.
Not enough can be said for a professionally honed edge for a new straight shaver and not enough can be said for the level of effort and attention that is offered by this excellent member of this great community. I couldn't believe how much fun I had shaving today and I wish you all an edge to give you joy.
Thank you Mr cudarunner for a suberb shave and quality kindness.Baby Butt Smooth

Thanked: 5Maxx, you have unknowingly made my day. Roy has already been an amazing mentor to me, and knowing that he offers honing services and lives in my state, i had every intention of sending any honing i needed his way. Hearing that you have had such a great experience makes me that much more happy to know him and that when the time comes his services will be top notch.

I actually meant to send him 5 but last one didn't fit in the small box. Not only did he hone and clean the 4 I sent but he walked me through honing the fifth. I think we have something like 50 emails going back and forth. Just a selfless and excellent human being with a fine skill to boot. Can't wait to come across that perfect meat chopper to send his way.
Glad to know you Roy!Baby Butt Smooth

Maxx, I'm glad I could be of some help to you. I was taught to do the best I can at whatever I do and I tried to do just that with your razors.
As you found with the 'Straggler' who didn't make the trip, honing a heavy grind razor can be 'Interesting' at times and down right 'Frustrating' at other times. Hell it doesn't take a heavy grind to 'Challenge' ones will to live at times.
Knowing that the effort to bring your razors back to doing what they were built for and that you are enjoying them gives me great pleasure.
To be honest taking a break from working on your razors to try to help you via email was more often than not a very welcome break. I'm pleased that once again I was of some help.
If you stick with this age old art and make it a 'Lifestyle' I just ask that you find a way to help someone else who is in search of a better way of shaving so that they can enjoy shaving the way it's been for hundreds of years.
Enjoy those razors my friend, it's a pleasure to know you!Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.

Thanked: 19He's been a mentor to me, too, and honed my razors to perfection. Indeed, he sent me two razors when I was first starting out to let me try them. When it was time return them, he gifted one of them to me. I will be paying that forward soon. He is an SRP treasure, to be sure.
