Thanked: 3Found an amazing mentor!
So I made an introduction post a little while ago. For those of you who didn't see it, I'm nineteen and completely cut the heck out of my face from my first shave... Last week. It looked like a cat fell on it. Someone recommended I contact petercp4e since he lived in Mass as well. He drove over sixty miles. He let me watch him hone my edge, watch him shave, watched me shave, and even gifted me a gorgeous straight razor to really start my collection. Couldn't have found a better forum or a better person in this forum to be my mentor!

What a great day!
Let me first say that it was an absolute pleasure to meet Justin. What an exceptional young man :-(straight A student). He exhibited a thirst for knowledge and took in information like a sponge. He had tons of questions and was very attentive to the answers. He saw his non shave ready edge get a bevel set and then go through polishing stages under a microscope. I think he found that fascinating. He's already talking about learning to hone. I let him watch me shave, then it was his turn. I could tell that he was listening closely. If I told him to use less pressure or reduce the spine angle, I immediately saw him do it. He looked very comfortable and wanted to keep going. He ended completing a full 3 pass shave!! Bravo!!
This whole experience was 6 hours of absolute joy. The 60 miles was nothing.
It was an honor and a privilege on my part to be able to do my small share "passing the torch."

Peter, if I could hit the like button a dozen times and have them all register I would feel content. You have experienced what I have, an eager, receptive and intelligent person that belies their lack in years. One can only hope that there are enough of these extraordinary people in the world that we won't continue to go to hell in a hand basket.
Unfortunately, they seem to be few and far between in our field of endeavor. But one can always hope."The sharpening stones from time to time provide officers with gasoline."
