Thanked: 0New Skin
Wanted to put a vote out to New Skin, this stuff in a small bottle with a brush that you can paint over cuts - I almost severed my ear lobe from my face on a downward side burn stroke this morning with a square point - did a mighty slice, and a respectable bleeder. No bandaids would work for that area, so I painted on some "New Skin" and it stopped the blood flow, and looks better to me that a bandaid anyways. Label says it is antiseptic too.
Two thumbs up.

Thanked: 0No, I am no Van Gogh!
But seriously, I have had more people think that I had an *earring* mishap - the nerve. This is Texas, and I wear a suit - we don't have no stinking earrings - outrageous!
It is healing nicely - especially since I *DID IT AGAIN* in almost the exact same spot - now I have *two* cuts with a wedge shaped slice - I have got to get away from these square points, they are going to be the death of me..fortunately it wasn't my neck or jugular or anything...damn. Still didn't go all the way through the lobe, but I have got to be pretty close.
Now I look like I am a *cutter* just mangling my ear for kicks, bled on my shirt at work, actually kind of cool in a first rule of Fight Club, you do not talk about Fight Club sort of way.
New Skin, consider it. If you are wacked or just not very good early in the morning with a sharp piece of shiny steel and hate little mermaid bandaids, RUN, don't walk to you nearest supplier.

My fears of those str8 points have been vindicated.
I don't recommend the newskin spray as much. That has to be dicey for the lungs.

You're not the first, http://straightrazorpalace.com/showt...hlight=pierced
Remember, it's not the razor's fault, it's yours. Always know where the edge is at all times and what it's doing.

Thanked: 0Ah, Obi Wan...
Thank you for the words of wisdom, I have taken heed - trust me.
I think some of the problem is that I have actually been listening to some you folks, and I have been switching hands, doing the left side of my face with my left hand - which as it turns out with many years of being a right handed pencil pusher, does *not* have as fine motor control as my right - therefore, all of the carefulness in the world still lands me in *twitch*YELP*BLEED* situations -
But consider the blast shield down Obi, I am going in for another attempt in the morning - and I am going to conquer these things, or bleed to death trying. Wish me luck...

Good to hear you're undaunted. Ever heard of Creative Visualisation? I think you're a good candidate for this technique. Heck, we all are.

New Skin is neat stuff (dig the anise-like fragrance). I haven't used it since I discovered Krazy Glue, though.
