Thanked: 1NewB SR practitioner
I am a newbie STR8 shaver. Started since last Tuesday and in my 3rd shave. I am using a Titan straight razor purchased from AliExpress at the cost of USD38.54 incl shipping. I have read on so many negative reviews on this 'cheapo' razor . Some have even deemed it a letter opener shaped like a straight razor. When I got mine, it was shave ready. Just to be save, did a few laps on the C12K, then regular stropping. Prior to this, I have been a DE user form the past 7 months. I find that this Titan was pretty good. Maybe I'm speaking out of my lack of experience, but overall, I'm getting decent close shaves out of the Titan. Only time will tell if this STR8 will hold its edge well. By the way, I am from Malaysia and I don't have any resources like professional honing services or retails that caters to straight razor users. It's extinct here. I might be the last of the dinosaurs. If any one you ladies and gents know anyone in my part of the world that uses a SR, please let me know. Would love to hook up. Cheers!!

Glad you like it, but be very careful of this statement of shave ready, you really don't even know what that means yet or how to shave. Your in a long list of guys who thought it was. When I started I thought the same thing, but I never got caught in the RSO trap. That razor is a letter opener and you will find that out as you learn, but have fun with it and get yourself a razor that's honed by someone who uses and knows how to hone. Then you might not think the same way. Tc
by the way Malaysia has mail, so yes you can send it to get honed, instinct won't get all the shaving stuff, unfortunantly that's just the way it is, it's only as far as your mailbox.Last edited by tcrideshd; 06-30-2016 at 12:27 PM.

I can't comment on your razor's state of shave readiness, but I'm with TC all the way. Your new best friends will be this forum, the internet and your mailbox. I've done business all over the world with no problems at all. Ask plenty of questions and take things at your own pace. You'll be an "old pro" in no time at all!
Good luck!!
