I do a south pass, then a north pass. Since most of my neck hair grows west to east, my final pass is at an angle from NE to SW. I make the angle as close to sideways as I can, which isn't much, but it gets close enough for BBS. No need to go straight across.

I also have trouble XTG on my neck. Admit to a quick XTG pass with a DE razor to clean things up. Purist ? No, but doing the best I can.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one that struggles with this.
Today's shave was the closest I've gotten yeat in this area, nearly perfect.

What I did was to use hold #7 Different ways to hold a straight razor - Straight Razor Place Library
But with the spine as far back to the scales as it would go, with the razor in my left hand and my right hand gripping the back of my neck ( think about laying back with your hands behind your head) the thumb points down towards the front of your neck, your thumb provides tension to the skin in a sideward direction, head back and to the left, the direction of stroke is forward and slightly up.
I hope this description makes sense.

My understanding is that they are doing some research on the various bivalves available. They may have something available for Christmas.

OK, I have a Portland Razor Co. Sprite in production. It has a 2" blade. I have a full beard, all but part of the neck, which seems to make this razor make some sense. I do not have any hollows in my neck or many other places for that manner. Skinny people are the first to get kidnapped, and old people like me are seldom kept as hostages. Any thoughts on my razor selection being a successful tool for the limited service for which I purchased it?
