Windshield wiper motion should help you a lot. I was getting better shaves with less irritation once I started using something similar. The way I've done it gives the blade more of a scythe-like motion. It's a simple wrist flex, easy to learn & do consistently. All blades cut better when they have a bit of an angle or sideways slicing motion. Just be careful you don't take it too far or your cheek might land in the sink

Edit: I just realized your main razor was a square tip. May not be all that easy after all. Mine are French tip with the corner slightly rounded so I don't have to worry about it digging in. I doubt I'd have the nerve to try it with a square tip, although using it on an angle shouldn't be much of an issue.

Great to hear you are progressing Andy,
the Scything motion will work on the neck, but also remember to stretch the skin and you will find the taught skin easier to shave & you can change it's location slightly helping with the motion
remember to only use light pressure & keep you passes to 3 at the most while learning or your face will pay ( the alum block or a alcohol based Aftershave will definitely highlight this to you

the Fools pass (ATG on the lip) & ATG on the chin are the hardest to learn & angles & pressure are the keys to learn here
I found when learning the fools pass, it was easier to hold the razor still with 2 hands & move my head with short strokes until the co-ordination builds up,
similar with the chin as you need to change the angle constantly to suit the chin shape & keep the pressure to a minimum
keep up the progress as mentioned already 100 shaves is still a beginner LOL but confidence & technique will build with every shave
    Cheers
    D

    Edit:
this is a favorite shaving video, showing some great technique, but some best practiced with the round point

    Good tip, man.

I didn't know the term before, but I made the mistake of attempting the 'fool's pass' carelessly yesterday and paid for it:

I'll know to be a lot more careful with this one until I've built up a bit more skill wielding the Tillotson

I never do XTG. Once south, once north, a few cleanups and I'm done.
