Default Mastro Livi Videos Covering Many Important Topics

Just came across these on youtube.
Masto Livi discussing razor use and maintainance.
Videos are in Italian with English Subtitles.
The information is so good, a pleasure to watch.

    Hirlau and BobH like this.
My father was an engineer. He used to tell me that sharpening a straight razor is like trying to build a ladder to the moon out of a roll of aluminum foil.

He is a helluva razor maker, and you can tell from his presentation that he is a nice guy. I like him.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Default Mastro Livi Videos Covering Many Important Topics

Visited him in Perugia, Italy in May 2016.
He loves to talk about straight razors, is more than happy to demonstrate how in his opinion razors and associated tools should be handed, and he obviously enjoys his work.

His workshop is adjacent to a larger workshop/sales room where his son works and manufactures knives, and Mastro Livi calls his workshop his "paradise".

On occasion, his take on using and maintaining razors may differ from conventional wisdom, but it always makes sense to listen to Mastro Livi and think about what he says, as I found him often to be right.

I have seen the entire series of videos and even after years of straight shaving I found a few tips that improved my shave.

You should try it with a bowl of pasta, sauce Bolognaise, and a bottle of Chianti.

Works great for me (as long as I don't try to shave once the bottle of Chianti is empty.)
