About 40 years ago when I joined the army.
I was 43. 10 yes ago, when I became annoyed with Mach 3's I went to DEs. For a year after seeing, reading of cut throats I swore I'd never go to str8ts, never the less at age 46 (7years ago) I bought my 1St straight razor, and the rest is history. Best thing I ever did. A fine hobby, past time, and really a way of life, not to forget all the SRD friends who are all part of the experience. So, here in Eastern Australia it's Xmas eve, and this morning I am shaving with my Dovo Grenadille , a nice Taylor of Old Bond St peppermint shave cream, and a Penhaligons blenheim bouquet balm to finish with. See, great way to live!
My first straight shave... This morning(12/26/16) at the ripe old age of 26
At the age of 44. Got too annoyed by all those Gillette Mach N+1, tried a shavette for a couple of months - just to make sure it was for me, before investing the not so negligible first investment, and then finally went for it.
25, shortly after i joined this place 6 months ago

About a year ago at age 58.
14 IIRC, my grandfather taught me. Hadn't used one in decades however... :gaah:
1 1/2 years ago. Started using DE's about 6 months before that at the age of 33. Had a couple month break from straights till recently when I finally got setup for honing. Touched up one straight razor and have 4 to go.
18 or 19 years of age. I got married at 19, shaved on my honeymoon even though I was still very much a noob at shaving with a straight razor. haha My bride was frightened to death.
Gotten used it now though!! She just gave me a Naniwa 12K for Christmas!
PS I'm 25 now.
