Ingrowns.....................
Due to a mixture of not having enough time to hone like I used to I have been using DE with mug and brush for awhile now. The other issue that has plagued me with straight shaving relates to my neck: The extreme sharpness of a well honed razor I believe shears the whisker so cleanly that my neck whiskers are horribly prone to becoming ingrown even with a very gentle touch to ensure I'm not pressing down on the skin unnecessarily thereby shearing off the whiskers below skin surface level.
Electric rotary shavers as we all know do a horrible job compared to wet shaving with a straight, but between straight, DE or electric, electric when I'd use one was the least problematic on my neck. I would attribute that to the poor job electric shavers do at cutting (I call them whisker grinders).
Perhaps I should continue to shave with a straight on my face and accept a less than smooth shave on my neck by using some other means to do the neck shaves?"Blues fallin' down like hail." Robert Johnson

Interesting. For me, it is exactly the other way around. An electric gives me ingrowns, and almost immediately, and repeatably. DEs are a lot better. Cut-throat razors are excellent, rivalled only be SE razors. I have no explanation for it, either.
But you may want to give this product a try: Dermo K | Eau Thermale Avène. For me, it works like a charm. It's pricey, but incredibly efficient (I am on a tube I bought three years ago, and it's still half full). It also works very well with existing ingrowns.

I have to be very careful on my neck and the area just under either side of my lips; I am prone to the little white bumps. In addition to letting my face fully recover between shaves and being very careful to avoid pressure, I have found that only going WTG, shaving before a shower, and using moisturizer more regularly on my face all help.
For me, a sharper blade is good because it cuts more easily, but it's also more aggressive if I use too much pressure...

For me, it took a long time to really figure out what light pressure really meant. Once I got that down, my shaves have been great. My own version of Uberlather helped a lot too.
