Default How do you store your razor

I am looking for the best way to store my razors. I use them every day so they need to be easily available. I dont like storing them in the cardboard box because they are stored in the vanity in the bathroom. Any ideas was thinking a mini cigar box.

I personally don't like the idea of storing in the bathroom. And a lot of folks around here agree. A few do and say no problem. I made a nice display that hangs on the wall for my razors. After shaving I clean up my razor, take it down stairs, strop it and put it back on the display. And if I'm not going to use it for a week or more I'll put a very light coating of oil on the blade.

Lots of stuff on this and recently. So do a quick search and you will find pages of it.

I have a stand on my dresser in my bedroom that allows me to keep the razor open in case it isn't fully dry. With the bathroom in my bedroom, it's convenient without exposing the razor to the humidity of a steamy bathroom.

I'm always torn between oiling it, and putting it in a non-humid environment, or just drying it off and storing it with some desiccant packs.

I'm curious about this as well, what are the thoughts about if the razor is stored in a drawer? Would that prevent the majority of the humidity from reaching the razor?

I picked up a couple of these today to help keep the razors from getting too much moister and safety reasons. The blades can't open while inside just in case someone bumps them. Also has small holes for moisture control. Finish shaving, dry the razor off and let it sit over night. Then put them in the case once completely dry.

Silicone treated razor socks are the way to go - believe SRP sells them under the name, "Sack-Ups", think I've got about 100 of them - great way to store your blades, as I really prefer not to oil the blades.

Good to know. Can the oil cause any long term effects to celluloid scales? I've always been careful not to get the oil on the scales for fear it might cause discoloration or eventual cell rot but it happens.

I dry my razor with a towel and remove it from the bathroom where I shave to my small upright dresser where it remains open till the next morning. Then it returns to my cloth roll up where I have desiccant packs in the bottom.
