Thanked: 481Most of my cuts and nicks seem to come from moments of inattention. Coming in a little too fast, too much pressure, making a slight horizontal slice type motion...that sort of thing. This is more likely to come during the first pass, when my 'head isn't in the game' so to speak. And once I've already nicked myself you can bet I become more attentive. Funny how fast a nip from a razor will snatch your head out of the clouds.

Thanked: 96I had a young barber in FL show me when he was giving me a shave an interesting technique. Going across the grain or on my neck, he angled the blade so instead of being horizontal or vertical, he angle the blade at about a 45 degree angle with about 2 spine distance from my face. It really feels good because you get less resistance. He said its like plowing snow, it's easier to move snow when you angle a blade. I change the angle to less on certain parts of my face. Much less irritation. Works great on my upper lip and neck.
