Thanked: 480Whats wrong?!?
So I am practicing honing with some Jnats, and this morning was test shave time.
I grabbed 2 blades off the bench, staggered uncoffee-nated up the stairs to the shower, and both blades gave me rough, uncomfortable, no so close shaves.
What happened?
(points for imagination, prize for the first correct guess)

You forgot the caffeine! or, grabbed un-honed blades from the table.

Given my signature, I must say the culprit is most likely a distinct lack of caffeine. Besides, I have no experience with Jnats as Glen told me to stay away from them for a while (he helped me immensely with my HAD disability).

Thanked: 4826My go to answer for a rough shave is always about the low grits. The foundation to every great edge is a perfect apex from heel to toe.
I am pretty sure that you already know and likely already checked that with a loupe.
After that I am tapped for personal experience.
JNats are all about the slurry. If you did not work your slurry long enough it may have been too coarse for the finish.
You could have mixed your naggurra stones up and used the wrong one last. It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

Thanked: 59You tried shaving with the spine of the razor instead of the cutting edge maybe?

Uncaffinated!!!! My guess is you grabbed the wrong 2 blades off the bench. Next time grabbed the opnes you honed not those waiting to be honed. And never EVER shave before you caffinate!
