    Default Corners of mouth

When shaving my mustache I always have to do another pass to neaten up the corners of my mouth. I can't seem to find an angle that doesn't have the blade biting into another part of my face the first go around. I always go back and use near the toe to mow down the extra. Anyone have a better strategy?

The tongue is a valuable tool for the hard to shave portions of the lower face. Stretches skin easily and can really reduce the scraping or burning of the areas around your mouth!

I don't have a mustache, so the exact maneuvering may be a bit different for you. As the gents have already said, puffing your cheeks with air and/or the tongue will get the mouth area (sometimes just inflating one lip or the other does wonders) into a shape that can be shaved.

Being a visual learner, I just snapped two pics as soon as I saw the title of this thread.

This first one is just inflated with air. Makes the spot just outside the corners well stretched.

This was neutral air pressure, using my tongue to push out the concave corner of the mouth. Contort the lips as needed; mine are kinda big & get in the way.

Fun fact: the tongue has the highest power to weight ratio of any muscle in the human body!

Oops! Forgot the reason I mentioned "maneuvering". Depending on the day, or which razor I'm using, I may use the heel of the razor on the corners of the mouth. It is just a matter of what feels right when I approach the spot with the blade. Two things determine if I use the toe OR the heel: will I get cut in another spot (keep your eye on the whole blade!)? Does it feel right?

Having a mustache could narrow your options.

Without doing any research, I think maybe the jaw muscles or the heart would be the strongest.
