Rollin' with TI Bijou de France
I had another breakdown yesterday lasting some 26 hours. Arrggg! Just after a four day breakdown in Denver returning from Butte, Mt. Anyway, not wanting to let good honing time go to waste, I pulled out my TI Bijou de France 7/8 square point, which started tugging in Denver. So I laid down 200, 300, 400 strokes on my Dan's Whetstone Translucent travel stone. Who knows how many really, I was watching John Wayne's Hondo while honing. This was followed by 100 laps Palm stropping.
Tonight was the test shave. Wow! Smooth, no effort. BBS. Better than the Duke getting the girl in Hondo.
A little advice: Don't impede an 80,000 lbs. 18 wheeler tanker carrying hazardous chemicals.

I have heard that most of the TI,s have good steel, never have tried one yet, about the only one I haven't, may have to give one a go. I knew they had some quality issues here awhile back with fit and finish but efges. Still came out good. Tc

Were you watching Hondo in 3D?
I still need to prep try out my translucent I picked up from Dan's this summer. They sure are a nice bunch of folks.

Before you go to extraordinary efforts to high polish finish your Dan's Translucent, try my low intensity satin finish I've advocated in other threads on Dan's True Hards. Take a finishing tool, chisel, knock the tops off, get a chalk like satin finish going, and see if it doesn't hone razors as good as a candy stick. If you want to progress further, you have my permission.
Nah. Watching Hondo in the drivers' lounge during breakdown. Broadcast TV.Last edited by Longhaultanker; 08-04-2017 at 06:28 PM.
