    I think I had the question before about why we apply the lather before the hot towel and after and I think this is about the best explanation I've heard. It is also a must read if you have sensitive skin

    Thanks saladbar. I have to admit my prep. is what you might call "rustic". Splash of hot water, bit of lather....

    I might have to give this a go on the weekend.

    I think he might be going a little overboard on the technique but he gives some good explainations and it looks pretty detailed. I think the thread in a nutshell says shaving lather is a better pre-shave prep than hair conditioner so lather up, hot towel, lather up again, and shave. It is the same preperation described in the barber text in the library
