I have posted replies about this, how I actually "look forward" to shaving now. It's just fun!
Does anyone else shave and then regret they have to wait a few days before they can shave again?

No, need to shave daily and some times if I am going out in the evening I'll do a touch up shave just to be tidily

Shaving is daily for me, unless i just dont want too on my weekend. But thats the time i ha e more time to shave. So waiting is only 24hrs for me. Somedays i will use more than one razor just to check out the razors edge, but other than that i can wait a day.
I look forward to it. I used to hate it in my electric days. My wife would nag me to shave. I don't have fast beard growth and don't work in a job that requires me to look nice so every other day is fine. If i shave more than that she'll say "are you shaving again?".
I know the feeling about being bitched at. I've been in the bathroom brushing my teeth and washing my face and the wife will come in and say "Shaving again?" No dammit! Only once a day!
I still look forward to shaving every day. I still find myself rubbing my face every day just enjoying the smoothness.
I enjoy it now. I usually have something new to try (soap or razor) or just the "fun" of using a straight is enough.
I use DE's many days and a straight once or twice a week. When I use a straight, sometimes I'll skip a day first. I enjoy shaving with a straight more with an extra day's growth.
After three years of using a straight razor nearly every day, I very much still look forward to my daily straight razor shave. The straight razor takes a necessary task and turns it into a fun and rewarding hobby.
It sure does. Now that I am semi-retired, I can do the whole ritual: shower, hot towel, lather, hot towel, relather, 2- or 3-pass shave, cold rinse, alum block and after shave. Takes about 30 minutes start to finish, but starts the day so nicely. The only problem is that I really don’t need to shave again for two days.
I usually take 60-90 minutes, start to finish, with shower. Ninety-five percent of the time I’m in a truck stop shower room. I no long call them truck stops, but shave stops. Each day is centered around where I’m going to stop for the night so I can shower and shave. OTR driving is only a side task to get to the shave.
BTW, getting loaded in Houston Texas, heading to Carlyle Saskatchewan.
A day without a good shave is like a day without sunshine for me.
Since I've started with SR shaving, it's so efficient that the next day, I really don't NEED to shave. And if I do skip a day, I'm still amazed at how effortlessly a sharp straight razor removes a couple of days of growth.
But most times, I can't wait.
And if I have a new razor, or soap, or brush to try the next morning, I can hardly sleep.
So, yes, I still look forward to my daily shave! ;)
That's great guys, I'm glad I'm not alone in my new found "addiction."
One thing I can tell you guys, I haven't had any more tiny whiteheads form on my neck. Those were a constant problem when I used an electric or Mach 3 razor. I assume the straight razor stays much more germ free and being soaked in oil when not being shaved with limits bacterial survival also.
To the truck driver.....stay safe on the road man and watch out for "four wheelers." LOL. Seriously, it's the car drivers that are the biggest threat on the road.
The killing of everyone was the easy part, the most difficult part was lathering them up and shaving them, that's the part that freaked me out the most.

My schedule lends time to shave in the evening after my baby goes down. This really has caused an amazing change to my day. I scrape my face and its a melodic almost trance inducing end to my day. I love the stress relief...though it does mean my nightcap comes later.
After 30 some years with straights....you bet I look forward to a daily shave. My problem is choosing which razor out of 160 or so, to use for the day. :nj
First world problems and thank God for it! :beer1:
Actually, I really don't look forward to shaving my face that much. However, since I've started using a straight razor, it has become more pleasurable. With a DE I had to shave everyday which made it a drudgery. Now, since learning how to hone and strop my razors to peak performance, I only have to shave every couple of days so it's tolerable and am starting to enjoy the results. It has taken me almost three years to reach this point of great shaves - finally!
All the years that I have been straight razor shaving, I can't ever remember not looking forward to the morning shave.
Real quality "me" time.

I think I'm losing it.
I've been SR Shaving for six months now and I've acquired 6 straights and a rotation consisting of most of the soaps on Obie's list. The night before I shave, I find myself gazing at the razor I will use and smelling the scent of of the soap or cream I will use the next morning. I'm spending tons of time looking at use tube videos, going to vendor websites trying to resist another purchase and scouring this board.

Holy Mother! :bow
I always look forward to a good shave, but I enjoy it the most when I can dedicate my time to it. Weekend mornings are the best!
After I’ve worked on cleaning up a new find or rehoning a razor, or getting a new soap or a new brush, I find myself obsessing about shaving with it the next day.
As mentioned by others, a SR shave is usually so close that I really don’t have to shave the day after - feels a little disappointing.
Gentlemen,
The world is full of wonders. The morning shave ritual is one of them. I celebrate it seven days a week. At one time I had many razors, some of which I regret, painfully, having sold.
These days my humble lineup includes about a dozen or so razors, and I love them all, none as much as my Gotta 120 and Louper, two sweet and unpretentious 6/8 razors. Two Fritz Bracht Dovos will join the group soon, as well as a pair of Japanese razors. Will I love them as much as my Gotta and Louper? Who knows.
I also use only synthetic brushes. All the Wiborgs, Thaters, Simpsons and the rest are gone. Also, slowly I am trimming down my soaps and creams to about a half a dozen favorites, crowned by Castle Forbes.
There is no shrine in my modest shave den, except for this memorial . . .

I shave every day but still look forward to it. Still the high point of my day.
Yes - I shave every other day .. and sometimes I think of changing to daily shaves - but I know it's good for my face to stay the course..
Been shaving just about every day for the last year. Started this wet shaving adventure with DE’s and gravitated towards straights and I hate missing an opportunity to shave now. I used to hate it so much I would only do it every 2-3 days.
I shave about once a week, which is about all I have time for. I don’t really look forward to shaving, especially since i still havnt figured out the straight yet. But, that doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy each shave.
That disposable Bic, is that a testament to your days in the Army?
On the synthetic brush note, could you share your favourite synthetic brushes, and in particular, could you recommend any that have solid backbone AND what you would consider good "scritch".
Know you personally don't like "scritch" but figured you'd know....
Thanks Obie! :-)
Those disposable Bics are all my father in law uses. I tried to give him a safety razor, a brush, and soap but he turned me down flat. He said he didn't want to bother.
Oh well, we can't convert everyone!
