Thanked: 98Fast growth?
Anyone else have a really good BBS shave only to find beard grow faster than normal? Happened today. Shaved last night, three full passes, and smooth like the day I was born. Today, I'm normally an every other day guy, im hairy like Gandalf. Any ideas? Wife said it could be a sign of healthier skin and face?

Thanked: 3795I cannot explain your finding but hair growth occurs well below the surface of the skin.

Thanked: 4826All I can say is when I first started with a straight, I was wishing I could shave more, so I could facerbate my fresh, perfect shave.

Thanked: 556When you start with a perfect bbs, any hair growth seems like a lot. The finger tips contain the most sensitive and densest nerve endings we have and can detect very minimal differences in hair growth. Or, your hair is growing more quickly after a close shave.
My dad claimed he was going to shave his entire head so that the hair would grow back with increased vigor. He went bald before he had a chance.David

Thanked: 98This all seems logical. Most likely I've just been paying more attention to my beard and become more noticing of the slightest hair growth. Thanks guys.

Thanked: 7I am SR shaving every three days........I think the subject of "how fast one's beard grows" is too subjective for any objective discussion. If one was so inclined though, that would be an interesting study, perhaps for a intro level college science course. *I didn't shave until college so I couldn't have done such an experiment in high school.
"Comparing facial hair growth rates across shaving techniques." It would certainly be different....
Theoman, I suspect your suggestion that you are paying more attention now than before has a lot to do with it. Before SR shaving, I didn't shave that often and my GF hated it. Unlike most women that like beards, she loves a clean-shaven face.

In my case I have to shave everyday, that’s why they came out whit the profile name Papabear lol. No seriously my beard grows very fast and due to my job I have no choice to shave everyday. When I was shaving electric I had to shave twice a day but now whit traditional wet shaving once a day is enough. It’s a good thing that I enjoy to shave cause I would have to let grow a beard.
