To shave blindfolded is fine if you want to try.
To post your results is fine.
To make it a contest makes light of people with a disability. Just my opinion. If you don't care where you are, you are not lost.

I can see what you're saying there Dave. But in the same aspect, it could teach what it's like to have a disability and to appreciate what those who do, go through. And appreciate more what we do have.
I'd say it would be a challenge for sureLook sharp and smell nice for the ladies.~~~Benz

I would have to practice with some techniques that would help prevent getting cut. Like at the ears.
Also I can see both sides in regard to the respect and sensitivity issue but think it could be done respectfully.
Lastly, I can see SRP stance on it regarding liability issues.
Really I was joking about the club.
But I may think about it, maybe try to focus more on feel, it may help me become a better shaver..
Like when Mr Miyagi put the blindfold on DanielSan to help him flying crane kick that bully in the face!
Where's Mr Miyagi when you need him?

There is a book in Spanish (el coronel no tiene quien le escriba), where the old man has shave soo many times, first with the mirror and then just thinking his own thoughts as he shaves.. and then (cause of some circumstances) when his old lady sells his mirror, he doesn't even notices its not there..
well, i remember when i was young i red that book and couln't keep thinking.. i guess if one day i would be able to do so....
alas... i'm still too scared to do it with a straight razor... hehehehoning my mind...

That makes so much sense to me!
When I shave though, I need to keep myself from thinking about anything but shaving, or I get cut.
Too much mind DanielSan! Too much mind!
But I reckon if you get the muscle memory perfect.. Then no need for a mirror.
I can shave my head with a Bic razor no problem with no mirror. It's kind of like my mind maps out my dome and keeps track of what's been shaved.
Yep, terribly awful razors, but that's all that was available..“You must unlearn what you have learned.”

Thanked: 4206I shave at the cottage without mirror, so yes, I’d think that’s akin to blindfolded.
Choose the right razor profile and go by touch. You’ll be surprised..very good exercise IMO.
Only area I avoid is the moustache fo obvious reasons..
Not a novice experiment..

Of the 5 traditional senses the only one that I don't use while shaving is taste.
I haven't found a soap that I like the taste of!
