I use my brush to wipe lather off and use it again.

That would shorten your brush pretty quick.

I just rinse it off. But then I have 45cm clearance under the faucet, so I'm not really worried about dinging the blade on it.

I do the same and pat the blade on a towel to remove water droplets.

I leave the water trickling and just rinse.
Plenty of room with my sink setup.

I simply use a small towel. Years ago I seem to remember reading a book about shaving with a straight razor, and I think that they called it a "sweet rag" or some such thing?? I can't remember for sure. I may just be getting senile.

Yup, that works but using a damp sponge saves me washing towels.

Invest in a goose neck faucet, take the faucet out of play.

    Problem solved.
