    Default Shaving update

    Okay,

I get pretty good shaves with a straight now. I still need to shave daily, well I really could skip a day if i had too but i still encounter some problems with pulling on the concave sides of my neck. I find it hard to shave the left side without some signifigant pulilng of the blade and skin irritation. With a freshly honed razor I notice this is less of a problem but after a few shaves it get noticeable again. The hair in the concave sides of my neck grows from w-e and e-w, also the adams apple is leaving me some difficulty still as well.

I think I need to to take my razors to the hone much more often than usual, and I am still learning stropping but think it is not a problem.

If your loosing the fine edge so fast I'd wonder if it's root problem is proper honeing or stroping. I tend to get will over a month out of my edge with just a few strops on a pasted paddle. But I have fine beard growth over most of my face and only haf thicker stuff around my mouth and chin. So I'm not taxing my edge all that much.

If your sure the hone and strop skills are up to par, how about the razor? could it have a temper issue? To soft a steel will loose it's edge fast and need honed or stropped offten. Also a brittle edge can chip and not shave worth a darn, causing irritation. Check the edge with a loop and see what the edge looks like when you think it's dull.
