    Default Shaving frequency V/S results

I see many questions and answers about a 1 pass or 3 pass shave.

BBS and all that other BS.

I find that if I shave every day a one pass is plenty, but if I have not shaved for a week I need to clean and clear the blade many times.

    Does this make sense?

    To each his own…

I strive to get a BBS shave every day and I did not learn to shave with a straight razor (or safety razor for that matter) to do one pass shaves. But if a one-pass WTG shave satisfies what some members aspire to, who am I to try to convince them otherwise?

As what is a BBS and what isn’t is a highly subjective and debatable matter, let me just say that I look forward to my daily (2-pass plus touch-up) shave and believe that if something is worth doing it is worth doing right.

It’s easier now that I am retired and master of my time, but I confess that I wonder sometimes if sagging skin may one day interfere with my straight shaves.
But I cross that bridge when I come to it…

I don't disagree with you one bit.

So from what you post you shave every day.

Does that make it easier to have a BBS shave?

When Pablo Casal, generally considered the pre-eminent cellist of the first half of the 20th century, was in his 80s and was asked why he still practiced several hours every day, he replied: “Because I think I am making progress.”

I think that illustrates my point and to me a near-perfect shave in the morning is such a satisfying way to start the day…

Since I've been using a straight razor I have had a 4 pass shave every time, never less and i always try for more bbs than the previous shave.

I have got my throat pretty much smooth but I find under my nose and chin a challenge.

It makes sense to me. Having learned to use a straight razor over the last couple of months, I find I sometimes have to go over some areas twice WTG if I haven’t shaved for a couple of days. I never shave against the grain. BBS is not a goal for me.

I shave every 3-4 days and do 2 passes.

But if I did shave every day...one pass is enough

I don’t have one of those Greek Beards.

When I first started with the straight....I couldn’t wait to shave...

    Now,,,not so much
