    Default Different grinds, good results

As a new comer to straight razor shaving, I have to keep revising my judgments. For a while, I thought I could get a good, nick-free shave only with my Wostenholm wedge. This morning I got the best shave I’ve had yet with a newly honed vintage (probably 1920s)) full hollow. Obviously it’s question of technique more than grind. I’m really glad I have stuck with it through the learning curve. Hard to imagine shaving any other way.

Yep, no matter what it is in width or grind. If its honed right, it'll shave right.

I have used a straight razor for several years . I will have to agree if it is honed right it is the most important part ,if you have mastered the skill of shaving. For myself the way the razor fits my hand is more important than size or grind. But that’s just my opinion. That and a buck fifty will get you a cup of coffee. Have fun and enjoy yourself.

The OP mentioned technique. That is the biggest difference in shaving different grinds of sharp razors.
As experience kicks-in, the natural angles and strokes will be automatic for the grind within a few strokes.

    Fun to mix them up!
