Default The Son's first real shave

Well, it finally happened. The son was ready to start shaving. Tonight was the first go around with the real straight. I started in April of 2011 and have been waiting for this day for a long time.
Glen @gssixgun gifted us an acrylic razor many years ago and I have some shots of that. And, then some shots of the boy with a real one:

It took like an hour and he made me super nervous. He will really need some help with hand placement, angle, etc.

    Thanks @gssixgun

That's awesome. It is a gift that we give to the next generation if we, and they are lucky

That is awesome! He needs some help with his lather and razor angle (perhaps). Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is older he will not depart from it.

Tis great to see the tradition being passed on. And his face doesn't look like he's been in a slapping contest.! Remarkable.

I agree, the lather sat out so long it kept thinning out. The angle could also use some work. Although much of the time he didn't end up shaving much.

I can see in the pic where he is lathering fresh lather that the lather is wanting. I think he needs a good lathering tutorial. What kind of soap is he using?

This is the video that finally taught my wife how to lather.

Here is one on face lathering.

Of course, nothing can make up for a poor soap.
