Thanked: 335Lather, lather, everywhere
Is there any rule of thumb about the quantity of lather one needs to put up one's nostrils?
Is it best to start with packing the one on the side of the dominant hand?
Must one pack both?
just curious, Bruce

Thanked: 0I save a lot of prep time by loading both nostrils at once. It's a more advanced technique but it was definitely worth learning

Much easier to load from one side only. Keep adding until the lather fills the sinuses and begins to emerge from the other nostril. This method keeps the lather density uniform; filling from both sides has the potential of compressing the lather and if too dense, the lubricity may suffer.
Just another data point,
Ed

I don't have the nostril issue, having a moustache and goatee. However, I'm quite adept at loading the ears.

Well, considering that both the ears and nostrils likely could use a good shave periodically, this makes perfect sense (anyone have a good barber's notch razor?)

I have the ear problem too. In, around, and behind. My ears pop anyway, so I don't immediately realize I've got lather in there when I hear the crackling

Thanked: 1Always a couple nostril blasts from me while lathering up.
I do blow my nose prior to shaving, so it's all good.
