Well, as far as I understand, the feather needs much shallower angle. Straights are sharp, but I don't think they are feather sharp. I'd ask the people who've used both specifically what's the main thing that should be done different. I think there were several of them who posted in your threads.
In any case, i'm sure sooner or later you'll try straights. Just as I'm bound to try feathers at some points, as well as the japanese razors... it just never ends

I will have to re-read my threads, I thought there were just 2 main points 1: keep it flat against face 2: less pressure. But there are still whiskers left behind. Bonus is razor burn lasts not very long, compared with my previous shaving "system".

    sorry Rum.

OLD_SCHOOL, it may be a good idea to start a new
thread of your own, but I have to point out that if
you are keeping the razor `flat' against your face, you
aren't going to be shaving much of your beard. You
still need an angle, but just keep it less than 30
degrees. One of the big learning curves is finding the
right angle to maximize beard reduction and minimize
irritation! (This varies between people and razors)

Scott, You are correct!!! Flat on the face is just going to shave pimples...
