Shaving with a cold
Recently I noticed that shaving while having a cold leaves you with more skin irritation. Has anyone else ever had a similar experience?

Thanked: 335Nor have I, but I am very careful where I hold things when I feel a sneeze approaching.

I haven't had a cold in years but in general I find when I do have one my skin just seems to be drier than normal so that may be the problem. You might try some extra moisturizer before shaving to compensate.

nope, I dont find more irritation either. I find that my nose clears up more due to the hot water.
Any chance its allergies and you are having a more strong histamine reaction? That has happened to me in the past with cartridge razors. My skin would get more irritated if I had hay fever. With a straight though I dont notice this, not sure why.

I don't know if it's coincidence, but last week I had a bad cold which coincided with some of the worst shaves I've had for months. I had really bad razor burn and just couldn't seem to get close without getting 'too close' if you see what I mean.
It was almost as if my skin was more sensitive than usual...

Thanked: 1Incidentally I have this thing, where I don't shave when sick.
Can't say I'm sure why I do that, but it's nice when I feel better to take that beard off.
